Title
Authorize the 60 day extension of agreement for Interim Fire Chief Services with the City of St Francis
Purpose/Background:
Chief Kapler has been working with the City of St Francis as the Interim Fire Chief. An internal Fire Chief search was recently completed with no qualified candidates being found. The City of St Francis has asked Chief Kapler to extend the contract a maximum of 60 days to find and name an outside person to fill the role of interim Fire Chief until an internal candidate can be brought up to speed with the position.
Funding Source:
There are no formal costs paid by the City of Ramsey but per the existing agreement, both the City of Ramsey and Chief Kapler receive compensation for time, vehicle use and equipment use. Those rates will continue for the maximum 60 day term.
Recommendation:
Authorize the extension of the existing contract until June 23rd to allow for the recruitment of an Interim Fire Chief for the City of St Francis.
Action:
Authorize a maximum of 60 day extension to the existing contract.
