| Approve Exemption for a Gambling License for Madelia Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau |
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: The State Gambling Board requires a city to give approval to a non-profit organization for a gambling event that is located within its city limits by acknowledging this approval by signing off on an application for exempt permit.
The attached application is from the non-profit Madelia Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau for exemption from a lawful gambling license to hold a fund-raising raffle at Game Fair on August 7-9 and August 14-16, 2015.
The Madelia Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau meets all of the requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the the standpoint that commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $50,000 in a calendar year.
