Presentation of Memorial Gudbrandsdal Rosemaled Plaque - Sons of Norway

The Sons of Norway Lodge or Vennekretsen (circle of friends) has asked for an opportunity to present the City of Ramsey with an original handcrafted Scandinavian Gudbrandsdal Rosemaled commemorative plaque in recognition and gratitude for the City's support of the organization's programs providing scholarships for young people to learn traditional Scandinavian art creation. In an email to staff, Mr. Bomier, Sons of Norway, stated the following:  "We look forward to an opportunity to express our appreciation to the City of Ramsey for the support they have provided our organization's efforts to preserve Nordic art through our scholarship program for young artists learning the traditional Nordic art form of Rosemaling at your Elmcrest facility."   Staff is in receipt of a letter from Mr. Bruce Bomier as well, which is attached along with a copy of a photograph taken during one of the classes.

Jeanne Engelsmeier, President, on behalf of the local Son's of Norway Lodge, will make the presentation along with Jan Hrncir, the artist who has crafted the memorial plaque for the City.
