Adopt Resolution #16-07-129 Authorizing Abatements of PID #20-32-25-31-0002 for Years Payable 2012-2016 and Apply to PID #20-32-25-34-0004 for Years Payable 2012-2016

In 2011, the City entered into a special assessment agreement with Hageman Holdings for their share of improvements pertaining to the Legacy Christian Academy Site.

The city issued debt to cover Hageman Holdings (Legacy) assessment costs and annually levies a special assessment on the respective "Legacy" parcels in the amount of the annual debt service payment.

It recently came to the city's attention that an incorrect PID # was being recorded during the certification of the special assessment accounts to the County.  (The parcel incorrectly certified was also a Legacy parcel and all special assessment taxes certified to date on this parcel are current).  PID #20-32-25-31-0002 was incorrectly levied for years payable 2012-2016 in the amounts as outlined on the attached abatement sheets.  The correct PID number to be levied should have been PID #20-32-25-34-0004.

In order for the County to correct the above PID error, they require the City to pass a resolution abating the incorrect PID numbers. 

The County Abatement/Addition of Special Assessment Forms are attached.  There are a total of ten forms - Five abatements for PID #20-32-25-31-002 for years payable 2012-2016 and five additions for PID #20-32-25-34-0004 for years payable 2012-2016

The special assessments levied annually pay the respective debt service for debt that was issued to fund the improvements known as the Legacy Christian Academy site.

Adoption of Resolution #16-07-129 authorizing the abatement of PID #20-32-25-31-0002 for the years payable 2012-2016 in the amounts noted, and certify the same amounts for years payable 2012-2016 to the correct PID # of 20-32-25-34-0004.
