Business Retention and Expansion Program Update
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to receive the attached report on the 2017 EDA Business Retention & Expansion Program. The annual goal for business visits is 24. In 2016, the staff completed 17 formal visits (25+ informal visits). The attached report is unformatted and unedited. Staff recognizes room exists for a more professional and detailed report (like the attached 2012 report). Staff anticipates achieving 24 business visits in 2017 will not be a problem, as the economic development department will have a 20 hour per week position available for assistance in 2017--which will also improve the annual report work product.
