Information
Title:
Discuss Parks’ Precedent Plan Comparisons
Purpose/Background:
Early in July 2017, correspondence was issued to the Commission requesting input on Community Engagement on the Park System Master Plan. Additionally, six other city's park master plans were provided to consult for consideration, as Ramsey begins to format its first master parks plan document.
Notification:
Observations/Alternatives:
Community Engagement (questions to organize the discussion)
Park System Master Plan Precedents (identify consensus on best aspects of these various documents will help to inform Ramsey's plan)
- Who should we try to engage in this process? Consider both demographic groups that we might want to focus on, as well as organizations with whom we should meet.
- What do we want to learn from the people we engage? Are we primarily interested in how they perceive the existing system, what they hope to see in the future, or other issues and considerations you’ve thought about or already heard from the community?
- What events are taking place this fall where we could either inform the community about our planning process and/or ask for their input? Similarly, are there particular places (like Happy Days) or methods (like publications or social media) we should use to get the word out?
