Title
Adopt Resolution #17-11-295 to Hire Temporary On-call Snow Plow Drivers
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to seek City Council approval to hire temporary on-call snow plow drivers for the Public Works Department.
Annually the City employs temporary on-call snow plow drivers. The process to fill these positions includes an open competitive recruitment, interviews, background checks, pre-employment testing, City Council approval to hire and on-boarding. As a result, staff selected several temporary snow plow drivers. All candidates have passed the pre-employment screenings and staff recommends hiring him.

Funding Source:
The funding required to fill these temporary on-call snow plow driver positions is included in the 2017 / 2018 budget.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends hiring the following temporary on-call snow plow drivers: Tim Barrett, Keith Noreen, Tom Heifort, James Wolfe, and Jake Marks.
Action:
↵Motion to adopt resolution #17-11-295 to do the following:
- Hire Tim Barrett, Keith Noreen, Tom Heifort and James Wolfe as temporary snow plow drivers, at $13.00 per hour, effective on or near October 25, 2017; and
- Hire Jake Marks as a temporary snow plow driver at $13.00 per hour, effective on or near December 1, 2017.
