Title
Approve Amending City Council Meeting Schedule for 2018
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: To amend the meeting schedule for the City Council due to elections and holidays.
Background: As Council is aware, City meetings are not allowed on Election nights until after the polls close. Rather than starting meetings at 8:01, past practice has been to reschedule the meeting nights that would be affected. Those dates for 2018 are as follows: February 13 for Special Primary Election, April 10 for Special General Election, and August 14 for Primary Election. The last date would be December 25 for Christmas Day.
All the above dates will be rescheduled to the Monday before, with the exception of the December meeting. That meeting will be canceled altogether as has been done in the past.

Recommendation:
Staff is recommending rescheduling the February, April and August dates to the Monday before and to cancel the December date.
Action:
Motion to reschedule the February 13, 2018 City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting to Monday, February 12, the April 10, 2018 City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting to Monday, April 9, the August 14, 2018 City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting to Monday, August 13, and to cancel the December 25, 2018 City Council Work Session and Regular Meeting.
