Discussion Regarding Union Contract Negotiations for AFSCME, LELS-Patrol, LELS-Sergeants & LELS-Captains (Discussion Closed to the Public)
 

The purpose of this discussion is to provide the City Council with the bargaining units initial proposals and to receive feedback for staff to continue negotiations with each group.  

Per Minnesota Statutes 13D.03, which states: "The governing body of a public employer may by a majority vote in a public meeting decide to hold a closed meeting to consider strategy for labor negotiations, including negotiation strategies or developments or discussion and review of labor negotiation proposals, conducted pursuant to sections 179A.01 to 179A.25" staff is requesting that the City Council go into closed session to discuss the City's labor negotiations strategy for its four union contracts.  All four contracts are set to expire on December 31, 2018. 

City staff have held meetings with all four groups and will provide the City Council with a detailed update regarding each of the groups' proposals.
