Title:
Receive Update Regarding the 2020 US Census
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to receive an update regarding the 2020 US Census. Staff has been approached by staff from the US Census on ways the City can help obtain a complete count. Census data is utililized to determine Congressional boundaries and number of representatives in each State in the US House of Representatives. Additionally, Census Data is utilized to distribute an estimate $675 Billion in Federal Funds.

Recommendation:
This case is for informational purposes only. Staff recommends utilizing existing resources (Council, Commission, Staff) to aide in Complete Count efforts, rather than establishing a separate Complete Count Committee. It appears that many communities are taking this approach.
