Title
Approve JPA with the City of Blaine for Police Officer Staffing at PGA Tournament.
Purpose/Background:
The City of Blaine has requested assistance with licensed police officer staffing for the 3M Open Golf Tournament that is scheduled to take place July 1-7th at the TPC Golf Course in Blaine. They are anticipating large crowds for the tournament events. Ramsey Police department has police officers willing to work at these events (off duty hours) and the city of Ramsey Police coverage would not be affected by this agreement. Ramsey police officers have previously assisted other twin cities law enforcement agencies with staffing at special events.
The proposed Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) has been reviewed and approved by the city attorney and the city’s workers compensation provider --the League of MN Cities.

Recommendation:
Staff reccomendation is to approve the attached JPA with the City of Blaine for licensed police officer staffing at the 3M Open Golf Tournament events.
