Adopt Resolution #19-133 Hiring Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers

The purpose of this case is to request authorization to hire Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers. Annually, the City employs Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers to perform work in the Parks, Streets, and Utilities Divisions of Public Works. At this time, staff selected three seasonal candidates to work in the Public Works Department.

Seasonal Public Works Maintenance workers provide general maintenance of streets, park grounds, trails, buildings, and related facilities and equipment through the spring, summer, and possibly fall months. This also includes mowing and trimming; pruning and planting trees or working on landscape projects; maintaining athletic fields; picking up trash; street maintenance; and utilities maintenance.
 

The funding required to fill these positions is included within the approved 2019 budget.
 

Staff recommends adopting the attached resolution. 

Motion to adopt resolution #19-133 to hire the following employees on or near the dates listed below:  Seasonal Public Works Maintenance Workers:  Mitchell Larson, effective June 10, 2019 at $11.00 per hour; Connor Moen, effective June 12, 2019 at $11:00 per hour, and Emma Hoekman, effective June 10, 2019 at $11.25 per hour.
