Title:
Adopt Resolution #19-201 Appointing a Member to the Economic Development Authority
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to appoint Richard (Scott) Cords to the Economic Development Authority (EDA).
As a result of a recent resignation there is a vacancy on the Economic Development Authority. Per Minnesota Statute 469.095, the Mayor is responsible for appointing members to the EDA. Mayor LeTourneau indicated that he will select Mr. Cords to be appointed to a partial term on the EDA. The partial term ends March 31, 2020.
Mr. Cords will participate in the ceremonial Oath of Office at the September 10, 2019 City Council meeting.

Funding Source:
Funding for the City's boards and commissions is included in the 2019 General Fund Budget; therefore, there are no additional budgetary implications associated with making the recommended appointment.
Recommendation:
To appoint Richard (Scott) Cords to a partial term on the Economic Development Authority, effective September 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020.
Action:
Motion to adopt resolution #19-201 appointing Richard (Scott) Cords to the Economic Development Authority, effective September 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020.
