Title:
Discussion Regarding Processes and Procedures for Council Meetings
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: To review the issue of public input at meetings, review the process for making revisions to meeting minutes, and review the process for changing the agenda prior to the meetings. Staff and the City Attorney will be prepared to discuss these matters.
In addition to topics above, with regard to meeting minutes, the City contracts with TimeSavers for minute taking. TimeSavers has proven to be an efficient and cost effective service to the City. Meeting minutes are available as "near verbatim, summary, or executive" style, each with an associated cost. The city currently receives summary style minutes. Summary style minutes include introduction of the topic, a summary of discussion, and the motion. If the City Council desires to increase the level of detail provided in the minutes staff, will inquire about the additional funding needed.
Attachments include the City of Ramsey's Meeting Comment Card, the applicable Charter language related to public comment, and the Ramsey Code, Article II - City Council
