Title:
Declare the Results of the November 5, 2019, Special General Election
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: The purpose of this case is to accept and declare the results of the November 5, 2019, Ward 3 Special General Election.
Background: As per State Statutes, the City Council must serve as a Canvassing Board to accept and declare the results of a local election. The Special General Election was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, Ward 3 polling places were open for voting from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Residents also had the opportunity to vote absentee if they chose, either at Ramsey City Hall, at Anoka County Elections Department, or by mail.
The voter turnout for the Special General Election, including absentee votes, was on average 9% percent. The Abstract of Votes Cast and the November 2019 Results Spreadsheet are attached.
