Background:
On 9/22/20 staff received a petition signed by 5 separate residences living near the intersection of Alpaca St/166th Ave. The petition stated that the residents felt the addition of a street light would increase the safety at that intersection.

On 9/22/20 staff received a petition signed by 5 separate residences living near the intersection of Alpaca St/166th Ave. The petition stated that the residents felt the addition of a street light would increase the safety at that intersection.

Observations/Alternatives:
The intersection of Alpaca St/ 166th Ave does have a rather sharp bend to it and can be surprising to motorists, if they are not familiar with the area. Connexus Energy was contacted and the base fees to install the light on the existing pole would be $348.00 and $5.76 per month for maintenance.

Recommendation:
Staff agrees with the petition and would recommend installing the light at the intersection.
Action:
Motion to approve the installation of the street light at the intersection of Alpaca St/166th Ave.
