City Board and Commission Interviews

The City conducts annual board and commission interviews every March for specific seats that are vacant and for terms that are set to expire on March 31, with new terms beginning on April 1.  There are 9 applicants for 7 vacant positions, 3 current board and commission members are requesting reappointment. Interviews are scheduled for 10 minutes each.  The first interview will begin at 6:10 p.m. with the last interview beginning at 7:45 p.m.  

The Mayor and Council Members will be considering several new applicants and incumbents for appointment or reappointment to new terms which begin on April 1. As per the City's Board and Commission Recruitment Policy, incumbent candidates will not be interviewed this evening; however the Chair or Vice-chair of each incumbents' respective board or commission has provided a recommendation for the City Council's review.  Per Minnesota Statue 469.095 (attached), the Mayor appoints members to the Economic Development Authority with approval from the Council.  The City Council will receive a separate packet with specific non-public applicant information at the beginning of the special work session.
