Information
Title:
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to check with the City Council to determine if a response (either in favor or in opposition) is desired on behalf of the City.
This bill, if passed, will restrict some of the tools commonly used by the City in the development review/approval process. Additionally, the administrative provisions (particularly applying the 60 Day Rule to Building Permits) will create additional workload for the City and will likely have a fiscal impact.
Ordinarily, this topic would be on Work Session; however the current Work Session Schedule is currently full/over-scheduled. There is urgency in timing if the City Council wants to respond. Multiple Committee Meetings have already occurred on this bill and the bill could get a hearing on the House and Senate Floor in the near future. This case is a placeholder for discussion; Staff will have a more robust presentation at the meeting. Councilmembers are encouraged to ask questions in advance to help prepare the Staff Presentation.
