Title:
Approve Response to City of Anoka Comprehensive Plan Amendment
Background:
The City has received notification of two (2) proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendments for the City of Anoka. Per Minnesota Statute, the City has 60 days to respond to the request before the request is heard by the Metropolitan Council. The proposed responses are attached for the City Council's review.
Observations:
As it relates to Amendment #1 (Rum River Amendment), Staff recommends commenting on transportation impacts and a desire to continue to work collaboratively to solve the region's transportation needs, as additional housing units along Bunker Lake Boulevard will add vehicle trips to the system, thereby impacting residents of Ramsey.
As it relates to Amendment #2 (Sunny Acres), Staff recommends that no additional comments are necessary at this time.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the proposed responses.
Council Action:
Motion to approve proposed responses to the City of Anoka Comprehensive Plan Amendments.
