Title:
Discussion regarding a Ramsey Lions Corner in Ramsey Resident
Background:
The Ramsey Lions requested having news space in each issue of the Ramsey Resident. The Ramsey Seniors are the only organization that currently submits regular articles highlighting their meetings as well as inviting membership. The City does provide links to community organizations via our web page.
Council is asked to discuss dedicating a permanent space within the Ramsey Resident to the Lions. Another option would be to list in the Resident all the community organizations along with their regular meeting dates and times, contact information, and then do periodic spotlights on each one. Currently, the City does a similar business spot light. The City has a variety of community organizations and managing the content, size and cost of newsletter production is an ongoing issue.
During staff discussion related to this topic report, Deputy City Administrator Nelson mentioned a website called Patch.com. As per their website, Patch is a community-specific news and information platform dedicated to providing comprehensive and trusted local coverage for individual, under-served communities across the country. They currently serve several metro cities in Minnesota.
Representatives of the Ramsey Lions Club, Martin Schindel and Tom Kujawa, will be present for the discussion.
