Title:
2012 General Fund Levy & Budget
Background:
The city adopted the proposed preliminary 2012 Levy and budget at its regular meeting of September 13, 2011. At the time of adoption, staff had proposed a tax rate of 44.642%. Staff was notified from the county that the actual tax rate has come in at 44.321%.
Attached is a brief summary of the proposed 2012 Levy and the proposed tax rates of all taxing jurisdictions (school, county & city) and the net effect on a residents property tax.
As the 2012 levy was reduced by using one-time or short-term financing, a schedule is included which outlines the funds used and possible future funding.
