At the regular meeting of October 25, 2011, Council adopted Resolution #11-10-213 establishing a Joint Fire Services Study Group.  Based upon a subsequent meeting of the group, staff is bringing forward amended language in the resolution.  Item #4 in Resolution #11-10-213 currently reads as follows:  That the City of Ramsey hereby appoints Councilmember Sarah Strommen as members of the joint fire services study group to work cooperatively with the appointment members from the Cities of ______, to develop a joint fire service organization.  The proposed language for #4 is as follows:  That the City of Ramsey hereby appoints an elected official, Councilmember Sarah Strommen, and an appointed official, City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich as members of the joint fire services study group to work cooperatively with the appointed members from the Cities of Bethel, Nowthen, Oak Grove, St. Francis and Ramsey to study a joint fire service organization.  In addition, a fire service representative, Fire Chief Dean Kapler is appointed as an ex-officio member. 

Staff is asking Council to rescind Resolution #11-10-213 and adopt this resolution in its place.
