Adopt Resolution #22-250 Accepting Survey Proposals for 2023 Overlay Improvement Projects
Purpose/Background:
Purpose:
The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #22-250 accepting survey proposals for 2023 Overlay Improvement projects.
Background:
The proposed 2023 through 2032 10-Year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) proposes to an MSA Overlay Improvement of Riverdale Drive between Ramsey Boulevard and Feldspar Street, and a Neighborhood Overlay Improvement of Alpine Meadows, and Highlands at River Park 1st – 4th. Street segment summaries of the two projects are attached to this case. The 2023 Neighborhood Overlay Improvement is also proposed in the 2023 through 2027 Street Reconstruction and Overlay Plan as part of the proposed General Obligation Street Reconstruction Bonds.
The proposed CIP has not yet been approved by City Council, but to solicit bids this winter, Staff needs to begin designing the projects and preparing plans. Topographic surveys are essential to locate all existing site features and to create an existing ground surface, used as the base for designing the project. These topographic survey are specifically located at the existing pedestrian ramp locations, as part of the projects will include upgrading pedestrian facilities within the city-owned right of way to current ADA standards.
Quotes received are shown below.
Bolton & Menk, Inc. submitted the lowest responsible quotes for both projects. Based on the submitted quotes, Staff recommends accepting the proposals for the 2023 MSA Overlay Improvements, and the 2023 Neighborhood Overlay Improvements topographic surveys from Bolton & Menk, Inc.
Bolton & Menk, Inc. is required to complete their work by December 2, 2022, which will allow Staff to complete design work for these proposed improvements in time for winter bidding.
