Following discussion of fiscal disparities at the Finance Committee meeting of October 25, and a report on fiscal disparities on the November 7 Council Consent Agenda, staff drafted a resolution formatted from a resolution Anoka County adopted requesting no change in fiscal disparities.  That resolution was presented to the Council at the work session on November 22.  Staff's recommendation was that the City continue the current fiscal disparities policy because of the net benefit.  Consensus of the Council was to support adoption of the resolution requesting no change in fiscal disparities.  That resolution is before Council this evening for formal adoption.   Following adoption, staff will forward the resolution on to Anoka County to allow for them to communicate a united message to Legislators for the upcoming Legislative Session.
