Title
Adopt Resolution 23-110 to Appoint an Environmental Policy Board Member
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to appoint an Environmental Policy Board member to fill a current vacancy.
As the City Council will recall, Staff recently conducted the annual boards and commissions process for terms beginning April 1, 2023. A portion of the process included the City Council interviewing new candidates for open seats. The City Council interviewed several candidates and the open seats were filled. Three candidates were not selected due to a limited number of open seats at the time.
As a result of the new vacancy and the City's ability to draw upon the current recruitment file, staff reached out to all three remaining candidates. All three stated they would be interested in appointment to the Environmental Policy Board. The City Council met in work session on May 9, 2023 and agreed by consensus to appoint Mr. Michael Heifner to the vacant partial term, effective through March 31, 2024.
