Adopt Ordinance #23-06 Amending Chapter 2, Article V Boards, Commissions and Authorities of the City Code 

The City Council recently adopted Charter recommended ordinance #23-04 which updated our City Charter prohibiting membership on city boards and commissions of non-city of Ramsey residents (attached for reference). Ordinance #23-06 is being presented to update our city code to match the recent City Charter update. 

Procedurally, a Charter update receives approval prior to a corresponding city code update. The Charter change is effective on June 29, 2023. Upon adoption and publication of Ordinance #23-06, the city code update would be effective on July 3, 2023.  Given the City Charter language, this ordinance is not discretionary.

The ordinance proposing the amendment is subject to the same publication requirements as other ordinances. The ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage and publication unless a later date is provided in the ordinance. 

Staff recommends adopting Ordinance #23-06.
