Pollinator Garden Planting Update

In March of this year, Staff provided the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) with an update on a pollinator project between the railroad tracks and Veterans Drive.  This included an opportunity for the EPB to actively participate in establishing/planting a portion of the demonstration garden directly adjacent to the Northstar Commuter Rail station.  In March, the EPB was supportive of the project and agreed to participate in the planting activity.  Furthermore, the EPB noted a desire to have that occur on the same night as a regularly scheduled meeting.

The planting of the demonstration garden is scheduled for September 18, 2023, which is the date of the next EPB meeting.  Planting will begin sometime between 5:00pm and 5:30pm (Staff will send out a reminder with specific details prior to the planting) and will conclude no later than 6:15pm.  This should allow both Staff and Board Members to conduct the regular meeting beginning at 6:30pm.
