Title
Adopt Resolution #23-207 Authorizing The Use of Anoka County Owned Highway Properties for Fire Department Training
Purpose/Background:
Anoka County, MnDOT, and the City of Ramsey developed a locally supported vision of the Highway 10 corridor through Ramsey as part of the Ramsey Gateway Project. The Gateway Highway 10 Project continues with the design of two grade-separated interchanges at Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard that will replace existing signalized intersections. Grade separation of the BNSF Railway and a new frontage road between Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard are also part of this design project. This highway expansion and addition of the frontage roads will require certain buildings owned by Anoka County to be demolished in 2024. The Fire Department approached representatives from Anoka County to request the use of 5 buildings to conduct non-destructive training for the department staff before the demolition takes place. Anoka County is in agreement that the use of these buildings will create a realistic training environment for the Fire Department and brings forward another opportunity for collaboration.
Funding Source:
The use of these buildings will be at a cost of $0.00
Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution and Use Agreement with Anoka County.
Action:
Motion to Adopt Resolution #23-207 Authorizing The Use of Anoka County Owned Highway Properties for Fire Department Training
