Title:
Presentation of 2023 Photo Contest Winners
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this presentation is to present the winners of the 2023 photo contest. Now in its seventh year, the contest is designed to foster community engagement, showcase the beauty and essence of Ramsey, spotlight local photographic talent, and gather images for use in City publications.
Photos were sorted by four distinct categories to be evaluated on creativity, quality, composition, and how well it conveyed the theme of its category.
2023 Category themes are outlined as:
Landscapes of Ramsey: Vast and awe-inspiring vistas; sunsets, sunrises, fields, etc.
Wildlife of Ramsey: Creatures you see in Ramsey; birds, deer, insects, etc.
Parks and Trails: Enjoying parks and trails in Ramsey; highlighting your favorite outdoor spaces.
Life in Ramsey: Celebrating the community through events; recreation, arts, culture, sports, gathering places, etc.

Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives:
Five minutes may be required to highlight the photo contest's imagery.
Recommendation:
Acknowledge the 2023 Photo Contest winners as affirmed by the Park & Recreation Commission in February 2024.
Outcome/Action:
Recreation Coordinator, Abby Proulx, will present a brief slideshow, featuring the winning photos by category and reveal the winner for the Overall Grand Prize.
