Review 2024 Citizen Survey Questions

The City has contracted with Polco to conduct a citizen survey in 2024.  Previous surveys were completed in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020.  The completed report is estimated to be delivered to the city on June 11, 2024, with a review of the results by the City Council at the June 25, 2024 Work Session.  To track trends over time, it is recommended questions within the survey do not change over time. However, the City may adjust questions as desired and did so in 2020 to some of the questions asked.  The survey also included custom questions in the past.  These can be more pointed questions to a current issue or consideration to gather community feedback.  The custom questions from the 2020 survey were questions 13, 14 and 15 for reference.

To maintain the scheduled timeframe, the City Council is asked to review the questions and determine what custom questions are desired to be asked.  Staff will then forward the information to Polco and continue working with them to administer the survey.  Throughout the data collection period, a random sample of properties will received a mailed invite to complete the survey.  Furthermore, a generic online link will be shared with the public to complete the survey.

The Citizen Survey has been budgeted for between the 2023 and 2024 General Fund Budget.
