Adopt Resolution #24-144 Approving Change Order No. 2 for Improvement Project #23-19, COR Infrastructure Improvements.

Change Order #2 proposes to delete the “Native Sod” pay item and to replace it with a "Native Seed" pay item that would include a native seed mix that replicates the native turf blend in the native sod, along with Category 25 blanket.  The contractor's bid price for the native sod is $34.00 per square yard.  The contractor is able to provide native seed and blanket for $4.00 per square yard instead, reducing project costs by $37,500.  The contractor has stated the seed will provide the same or better product as the sod.  In addition, by using the seed the project can be completed sooner as the native sod supplier has indicated that the sod would not be available until late summer or early fall.

Staff recommends approving Change Order No. 2 for reasons noted herein.
