Upcoming Programs and Registration Deadlines
Macrame Plant Hanger
Looking for a fun DIY project to display in your home or give as a gift? Join us for a macramé plant hanger workshop! Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the basics of macramé. You'll have a variety of design options, colors, and beads to customize your hanger.
  • Date: Tu., Oct. 22, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Public Works building
  • Cost: $10/person. Pre-registration required.
  • Ages: 13+, youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Registration: Pre-registration required, registration is open until full.
 
Pumpkin Chuck
Get ready for a smashing good time at our first-ever Pumpkin Chuck! Bring your Halloween pumpkins to launch from slingshots or smash in the field. Enjoy hot cider and yard games with friends and family, weather permitting. The Ramsey Fire Department will be there to help smash pumpkins and share holiday fire safety tips. Feeling creative? Build and bring your own pumpkin launcher! Participation is at your own risk.
  • Date: Sa., Nov. 2, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Elmcrest Park
  • Cost: Free
 
Puzzle Competition
Join us for a family-friendly speed puzzling competition, where teams of up to four will race to complete a 500-piece puzzle in two hours or less featuring a scene from Ramsey's 2023 Photo Contest. All teams can take their puzzle home, and the winning teams will receive a prize.
  • Date: Sa., Nov. 16, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at City Hall
  • Cost: $40/team
  • Registration: Pre-register by Wednesday, Nov. 6 to guarantee your space.  
 
Day Trip: Tundra Swan Migration Tour
Join us for a guided bird-watching tour along the Mississippi River Valley, one of the Midwest's top migratory paths, to witness thousands of tundra swans and other species. After exploring with expert Jim Nissen, we'll enjoy lunch at the Blue Moon Restaurant and visit the Onalaska Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center for more insights and interactive exhibits. Pick up and drop off will be at City Hall.
  • Date: Tu., Nov. 19, 7:45 a.m. – 6:45 p.m.
  • Cost: $108/person, includes round-trip transportation, light breakfast pastries, lunch, and guided swan migration tour.
  • Ages: 55+
  • Registration: Pre-register by Friday, October 18.
 
Mindful Movement Yoga (through October 24)
Mindful Movement yoga is back for September and October! Jennifer, our yoga instructor, will guide you through a series of poses and breathwork that revitalize both the mind and body. All levels welcome, no experience is necessary. Bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, and small towel.
  • Date: Wednesdays,  6 – 7 p.m. at the Public Works Building
  • Cost: $5/session
  • Ages: 13+, youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Registration: Pre-registration is required by noon the day of. If you do not pre-register, we cannot notify you of changes such as weather cancelations.
 
Ramsey Photo Contest
We are searching for beautiful photos from the community for our 2024 Photo Contest! This is your chance to showcase your talents, share what you love about Ramsey, and get creative and explore three different categories plus a new youth category.
  • Categories: Built Landscapes and Architecture, Natural Spaces and Wildlife, Life in Ramsey, and a new youth category, Through My Eyes.

  • Submission Deadline: Tu., December 31, 11:59 p.m.
  • Winners: Prizes will be awarded to an overall grand prize winner and the top two in each category. Winners will be contacted in February 2024 and publicly announced at a City Council meeting in the spring.

  • We’re working on new programs like a Dash and Dine 5K and Earth Day events!
  • You can expect the return of community events such as Frost Fest, Kites and Bites, Egg-Paw-Looza, Garage Sale Trail, Concert Series at The Draw, and more!
