Adopt resolution #25-069 to Update the Policy for the Recruitment, Application, and Interview Process of Appointing City Board and Commission Members and Chair Member Term Rotations - Please Note: this case was moved from the Consent Agenda item #6.9 to the Regular Agenda as item #8.3.

The purpose of this case is to consider updating the policy for the Recruitment Application and Interview Process of Appointing City Board and Commission Members and Chair Member Term Rotations to eliminate restrictions on the number of consecutive Chair member terms.  This matter was discussed this evening during the City Council work session and was brought forward at the request of two Councilmembers. 

As per the attached policy, page three of the policy, under "selection", bullet number 4, states "Chair and Vice-chair selections are generally decided by each board or commission in April.  The City Council desires to offer members the opportunity to grow their experience on the commission; therefore, following a maximum of two consecutive terms as Chair of the respective commission, a new Chair will be selected.  The outgoing Chair may be appointed to the Vice-chair role." 

A draft red-line policy is attached showing potential revisions related to this matter.
