Title:
Public Hearing: Adopt Ordinance #25-11: 2026 Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges
Purpose/Background:
The City annually adopts a schedule of rates, fees and charges which outlines the fees that the city charges for such items as building construction, business licenses, utility rates and planning and zoning.
A listing of the schedule of rates, fees and charges is attached. The schedule outlines the proposed changes in red. Two additional changes have been added since the first reading on November 25, 2025. The changes include adding a Dangerous Dog Appeal Escrow for $1000, which is the maximum amount allowed by State Statute, and updating the Dangerous Dog Annual renewal to $500, which is the maximum amount allowed by State Statute. The renewal process for dangerous dogs involves considerable staff time to process reports and payments, verify insurance, and, in some complex situations, involves a supervisor.
