Title
Purpose/Background:
The Wellness Room currently contains limited equipment, including two yoga mats, two 3-pound weights, and a leg-raising machine that had previously been unused by the Police Department. With the room now in regular use, multiple staff members have expressed interest in donating additional exercise equipment to further enhance the space. Per City policy, all donations to the City must be formally accepted by the City Council.
During discussion with the City Council, it was stated that before any donation is accepted, the Building Maintenance Supervisor will conduct an inspection to assess the safety, usability, and overall condition of the equipment. This review will also consider any potential risk exposures or ongoing maintenance responsibilities that may arise from adding the equipment to the Wellness Room.
The Building Maintenance Supervisor reviewed the request to accept an elliptical machine, offered for donation by Ms. Wendy Schlueter, a city employee. It is estimated to be 13 years old, in good condition, and worth approximately $300 as a second-hand item. The Building Maintenance Supervisor deemed the equipment suitable for employee use.
