Title:
Conduct the Interview Process for the Position of City Engineer
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this special work session is to conduct an interview with a City Engineer finalist.
This matter was discussed during the January 13, 2026, work session. At that time, City staff updated the City Council that two separate external recruitments had been conducted, which did not result in advancing a candidate for City Council consideration. Options were discussed with the City Council and it was decided that staff would recruit again in hopes of filling this position. The additional recruitment resulted in four candidates being interviewed by the management team. Two of these candidates participated in the City's Leadership Assessment and one candidate will be interviewed by the City Council this evening. Staff will provide an overview of the candidates' credentials and be on hand to answer questions. Following the interview, the City Council will discuss the candidate's interview and direct staff on the next steps.
