The intent of this case is to provide the Board with a final update regarding status of the Environmental Expo.  As of the writing of this case, there are fifteen (15) exhibitors that have been confirmed for the expo event (as shown on the attached exhibit).  Staff has also secured a group that will conduct concessions throughout the event as well.  As indicated on the attached exhibit, there are a handful of organizations that have been contacted but never responded and at this point, they are essentially being considered as not attending.  Tree sales have been a bit slow, with only around fifteen (15) trees sold thus far.  As the date of the event gets nearer, Staff will be looking at the overall order and trying to adjust it accordingly with the nursery.  Similar to last year, Staff will have seedlings available for attendees of the event also.

Staff has been unable to secure an alternate to lead a bird walk or walks and so that component, unfortunately, will not be included this year.  However, there is a potential for a gardening demonstration and/or tips that could be on site during the event.  This is something that is being explored and, if it comes together in time, could still be promoted on the postcard mailer that will reach mailboxes a week or two before the expo event. 

Staff has found some hands on activities that may be of interest to kids attending the event.  Examples are attached.  These could be made available as a handout if the Board would like.
