Report from the Personnel Committee - Meeting Date:  September 11, 2012

Case 1: Consider a Resolution to extend the current city engineer contract and authorize a postponed subsequent recruitment.

Case 2: Consider a resolution to accept the IT Manager's resignation, to authorize staff to rehire the previous IT Intern, followed by an IT Recruitment.  Note:  This case was acted upon and approved  at the regular council meeting on September 11, 2012.

Case 1: The Personnel Committee recommended approval of resolution #12-09-XXX, to extend the current city engineer contract for up to an additional six months and authorize a postponed subsequent recruitment in January or February, 2013.

Case 2: The Personnel Committee recommended approval of resolution #12-09-XXX, to 1) hire Jason Fredrickson back for temporary IT Support at $16.25 per hour, 2) authorize a recruitment for an IT Specialist at step 1 of the wage scale which is $20.50 per hour, 3) backfill the immediate higher level tasks with LOGIS at 24 hours per month or as-needed, and 4) utilize Support Services Captain Jeff Katers for unexpected/high priority needs.

Case 1: The is no additional funding required for this action.

Case 2: The funding required for this action may represent a savings of approximately $15,000 the first year.

Case 1: Motion to approve resolution 12-09-XXX, confirming the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to extend the current city engineer contract for up to an additional six months and authorize a postponed subsequent recruitment in January or February, 2013.
