Title:

Approve Change Order #3 for Sunwood Drive Project

Background:

The City Council previously approved the construction contract for City Project 12-20. The original plans included an access drive to serve the existing retail area (Coborn's, Aculpulco, etc.) that traverses across the COR TWO development area.

The original plans also included sanitary sewer and watermain stubs as well as a run of storm sewer to drain the COR TWO site area until development occurs. The strorm sewer, watermain stubs, and sanitary sewer stubs are incorporated into the Site Plan design for the COR TWO retail area.

Observations:

The proposed Change Order includes an ADA concrete crosswalk at the access drive, which was not included in the original design. It also includes storm sewer modifications in the COR TWO retail area that Landform has identified to be required based on the most current revisions of the Site Plans. The Change Order also addresses other minor storm sewer and curb alignment revisions on Sunwood Drive that were identified during construction.

The cost provided by North Pine Aggregate for Change Order #3 is an increase of $23,559.72.

Recommendation:

We recommend approval of Change Order #3

Funding Source:

The funding sources of this project have been previously identified. A portion of the costs that are associated with the COR TWO plat will be allocated to the HRA. The Development Manager and engineering staff will prepare a comprehensive allocation of costs based on actual bid prices and work effort and present it to the City Council and HRA at a future date.
