Overview of 2014 Budget Process

Staff presented a brief summary of the status of the 2014 Budgets:  General Fund, Economic Development Authority (EDA) and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) to the Finance Committee on July 16, 2013.

Proposed budgets need to be adopted by September 15, 2013.  This will be the first worksession leading up to this date to discuss the city's proposed budgets, tax rates, LGA, Levy Limits, debt funding, road reconstruction funding, etc.

The Finance Committtee discussed how all of the budget information can be transparent to the residents.  A summary of the status of the 2014 preliminary budgets/levies will be given during the Mayor/Staff Input section of the regular City Council meeting of July 23.

Staff is still working on the budgets, so the items presented are still in the preliminary stages.
