Title:
Background Information re the PACT Pantherettes Dance Team
Purpose/Background:
Purpose: To congratulate and give recognition to the PACT Charter School Dance Team for their hard work, determination, and placement in the State Tournament.
Background: The PACT Charter School Dance Team started in the year 2006, and has been one spot away from going to the State tournament for the past four seasons, and this season, they are the new Section 2A Champions. The Pantherettes compete in both the High Kick and Jazz divisions and qualified in both routines for the State tournament by placing first in Kick and second in Jazz at the sections championship on February 8th. Prior to this accomplishment, the team had won three kick meets and two jazz meets making it a record-breaking season. The dancers competed for the first time on the Target Center floor at the 2014 Dance Team State Tournament on February 14th and 15th. They were one of only five teams in Class A to bring both routines to the State floor. They placed 11th out of 12 teams in jazz on Friday, with the largest fan section from their school present in the arena. They placed 8th in high kick on Saturday.
The team's coach, Erin Kruesi, has been working with the PACT team for two seasons and coaching Dance Team for a total of 11 seasons. She previously led the Cannon Falls dance team to two State championships and multiple trips to State finals. She is also the founder of Minnesota High School Dance Team On-line which has gotten hundreds of thousands of hits throughout the winter season. The Pantherettes would like to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication to the team and the sport of dance team and look forward to another successful season with her as their coach.
Mayor Strommen will call the Coach and Team forward and present certificates of achievement to each member. The PACT Pantherettes Dance Team 2013-2014 Roster is as follows:
