Title:

New Vehicle and Equipment Display/Demonstration

Purpose/Background:

Purpose:  The purpose of this item is to give Council the opportunity to view the recent equipment and vehicle purchases.  The Work Session will be called to order in the Lake Itasca Room, followed by the equipment demo in the south parking lot outside the Municipal Center.

Background:  The following equipment will be in the parking lot for display/demo.

Public Works Equipment
2015 Single Axle Plow Truck - Cab & Chassis by International Truck - Box and Plowing Equipment by Towmaster

Squad 331 - 2014 Chevrolet Caprice

Purchase Price:  $33,500 ($27,000 for Vehicle + $6,500 Police Equipment)

Squad 332 - 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe

Note:  Having all the same equipment in the squads decreases the amount of time for repair/support.

Purchase Price:  $34,400 ($26,000 for Vehicle + $8,400 Police Equipment

Unit 339 - 2013 Enclosed Utility Trailer
  --  Features
      --  The trailer was modified by firearms range instructors to accommodate the storage of material needed while at the range.
      --  The trailer was outfitted with 110v wiring to accommodate lights so armorers can do minor firearms repairs while out at
          the outdoor Anoka County Range. 
Note:  The trailer has freed up valuable storage space within the armory and the garage, since all the non-essential items can be stored in the trailer.  It also saves the range instructors time by not having to unload or load all of the equipment before and after a shoot and use multiple vehicles for transportation of equipment to the range.

Purchase Price:  $2,500

Fire Department
2014 Freightline Rosenbauer Tanker Fire Truck

Purchase Price:  $335,250 



 

Timeframe:

It is expected the demonstration of the new vehicles and equipment will take approximately a half hour.
