Public Hearing on the Dissolution of the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority

Purpose:  To hold a public hearing on whether the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority should be dissolved.

Background:  The City Council previously decided to dissolve the HRA and transfer its assets to the City.  At its meeting on November 12, 2014, the HRA adopted Resolution 14-11-236 approving the transfers.  Staff is in the process of transferring the real estate and other assets.

By statute, dissolution of the HRA cannot occur until after a public hearing.  Notice of the public hearing was published in the Anoka County Union on Friday, November 21, 2014.

Following the public hearing, the Council may consider adoption of the attached resolution approving the dissolution of the HRA.

Staff recommends that the Council hold the public hearing and then adopt the attached Resolution dissolving the HRA.

Hold the public hearing, followed by a motion to adopt Resolution #14-12-262 Dissolving the Ramsey Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
