Title
Approve Attached Assignment and Assumption of the Existing AIA B101 Agreement Between the City of Ramsey and LSA Design for Project 14-28; parking ramp garage.
Purpose/Background:
PURPOSE
Approve Attached Assignment and Assumption of the existing A.I.A. (American Institute of Architects) B101 Agreement between the City of Ramsey and LSA Design for Project 14-28; parking ramp garage. This re-assignment would transfer B101 agreement from LSA Design (original contractor) to SRF Consulting.
BACKGROUND
This case is centered around the parking ramp garage project previously approved by the City Council (project 14-28) in March. This project is about 25% completed; and is expected for to be fully completed by August. The architect on this project (and project manager) was originally LSA Design. The contract that regulates the relationship between the City and the architect (project manager) is known as the A.I.A. B101 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Architect. That original agreement is attached to this case for reference Also attached to this case is a memo (case write-up) for the parking ramp garage project. Please review this case for a detailed background.
Recently, SRF Consulting purchased LSA design. In summary, the A.I.A. B101 contract for this project is being transferred from LSA Design to SRF Consulting. Mechanically, City staff will be working with the same people (the original LSA Design project manager will remain in-place). The reassignment of this agreement does not change the language in the original A.I.A. B101 agreement for either party.
