Recommend Certain 2016 Parks Capital Improvements

↵On a annual basis, the Park and Recreation Commission makes recommendations to City Council for park and trail projects, based upon community need.  For 2016 there are 8  projects identified within the Capital Improvement Program, with a wide scope—ranging from grates to secure storm water pipes at The Draw, to the proposed parkway for Central Park, to a irrigation filter system also at The Draw.  Four, 2016 projects are ready to move forward for installation. These are listed below with the funding source and estimated project cost:

 Attached for your information is the larger, 2016 - 2020 Parks Capital Improvement Plan.   Page numbers for the four projects' worksheets are noted within the table above.

City Council is anticipated to hold a Public Hearing on the city-wide 2016-2020 Capital Improvement Plan on May 10th, 2016.

As alluded to, staff is in various stages of project development for the eight park and trail related projects. For the four that are ready for Commission recommendation to City Council, staff will review at the meeting, *details on the projects that may not be included within the CIP worksheets noted above.
 

Funding would be from Park Improvement Trust Fund.

Staff recommends Commission approval, to forward these four projects to City Council.

Motion to recommend City Council authorize construction of the four Parks Capital Improvements herein; consistent with the identified funding and 2016 CIP.
