Title:
Anoka County Historical Society Update and Introduce Executive Director
Purpose/Background:
Rebecca Ebnet-Mavencamp, Executive Director of the Anoka County Historical Society, would like to introduce herself to the Ramsey City Council and provide an update presentation (on the Historical Society of Anoka County). Attached is the 2015 annual report, here is a website link: http://anokacountyhistory.org/.
On a side note, staff asked Ms. Ebnet-Mavencamp if the Anoka County Historical Society would be interested in leading the charge in reviving the Historic Ramsey City Hall. Ms. Ebnet-Mavencamp indicated the Anoka County Historical Society would consider the project, would be happy to discuss, and would be interested in further investigating. NOTE: the Historic Ramsey City Hall is the only nationally registered historic building* in Ramsey.
*The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources.
