Approve Request to Declare Surplus Property

Purpose:  Staff is requesting Council declare the following property surplus and authorize sale of same:

• Pick-up bed slide-out

Background:  The Fire Department is asking that a pick-up bed slide-out bed attachment be declared surplus inventory as it is no longer needed or is practical for the vehicle.  The slide-out was purchased in 2002 and installed in the then Fire Inspector vehicle.  The vehicle is currently used as a Duty Officer/Utility vehicle and the box is better utilized without the slide-out installed.  The slide-out has been offered to Building Maintenance and Public Works, but neither department has use for it.  The estimated value is less than $500.

Staff recommends Council declare the above named item as surplus and authorize sale/auction of same.
