Title:
Elect Chair and Vice Chair for 2016 - 2017
Purpose/Background:
Each year the Charter Commission elects a Chair and Vice Chair to preside over the meetings. However, in 2013, consensus of the Commission was that the Chair and Vice-Chair should be elected for two years. Joe Field served as Chair and Harry Niska served as Vice-Chair for the two year period. One meeting was held in 2015 for the purpose of fulfilling the requirement of at least one meeting per year. The Commission reviewed the year-end letter to the Chief Judge of the Tenth District, but did no other business. Mr. Field continued to serve as Chair at this meeting.
This being the first meeting of the Charter for 2016, a Chair and Vice-Chair must be elected. For your information, there is no limit to the amount of years a Commissioner can serve as Chair or Vice Chair.
