Title:
PUBLIC HEARING: Ordinance #18-001 Amending Lot Width Requirements for Cul-De-Sac lots in the R-1 Rural Developing District
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is for the Planning Commission to review and consider a proposed amendment to reduce the required lot width standards from 200 feet to 100 feet for lots zoned R-1 Rural Developing and located on a Cul-De-Sac.
Notification:
City Staff published a notice of public hearing in the Anoka Union Herald, the City's official newspaper.
Observations/Alternatives:
Alternative 1: Recommend adoption of Ordinance #18-01 amending the lot width requirement for lots zoned R-1 Rural Developing and located on a cul-de-sac. The Planning Commission reviewed a proposal to amend the lot width requirements for cul-de-sac lots in the R-1 Rural Developing district and directed staff to draft an ordinance amendment accordingly. Staff supports this alternative.
Alternative 2: Recommend adoption of Ordinance #18-01 amending the lot width requirement for lots zoned R-1 Rural Developing and located on a cul-de-sac with a revision to the suggested revised lot width of 100 feet. Staff is not opposed to this alternative but does believe that a lot width of 100 feet is appropriate.
Alternative 3: Do not recommend adoption of Ordinance #18-01. Staff does not support this alternative.
