Title:
Recommend to City Council Support for the Realignment of the Central Anoka County Regional Trail
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to recommend to City Council support for the realignment of the Central Anoka County Regional Trail to the west, from Ramsey Boulevard, to Center Street and the Northstar Rail Station, existing skyway and future pedestrian bridge, (as depicted in the first attachment).
A great deal of background and additional information is included within attachment number 1. For the meeting, staff will review the background on this issue, the favorable import of the proposed alignment as well as next steps. City Council is expected consider this at their February 12th, 2018 regular meeting.

Notification:
An informational open house on this specific proposal has been advertised and is scheduled to be held at Ramsey City Hall on February 12th from 5 to 7 PM.
Observations/Alternatives:
Funding Source:
No funding from the City of Ramsey is required for the proposed regional trail realignment.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends support for this realignment of the regional trail.
Action:
Motion to recommend to City Council support for the realignment of the Central Anoka County Regional Trail as proposed.
